Abstract
This article presents the design and implementation of a software that allows estimating the value of surface roughness using first and second order descriptors, using image analysis and the texture present in each of the images. You can configure the number of classes, filters, descriptors and type of classifiers with which it can work with materials such as paper, wood and metals. This tool helps quality control in the manufacture of different parts by determining if they comply with the pre-established parameters of the developed product. The tests that were carried out demonstrate a high degree of reliability in the estimation of the mean roughness parameter
