Abstract
Demographic dependency ratio and economic dependency ratios are two important indicators of human power in a nation. The highest-ranking states are Kerala, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh for old age dependency ratios which calls for better social security and health care measures for those states. The states like Bihar, Meghalaya and Uttar Pradesh have the highest young age dependency ratios that calls for better education facilities in these states. One can also see from the analysis in this study that economic dependency ratios are recorded to be highest in the least developed states of India like Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
