Abstract

The article deals with the psychological and pedagogical conditions of development of metacognitive competence of the teacher. The results of testing the effectiveness of the program of development of metacognitive competence of the teacher of high school. The program includes four stages: motivational, competence, reflective and metacognitive, which provide development of professional competence of the teacher, educational reflexivity, and metacognitive experiences that are part of the metacognitive competence. It is shown that the conditions of the organization of the program have different effects on the development of metamemory, metacognitive activity and metacognitive awareness. The checking of the effectiveness of the program has shown that the inclusion in the program of all stages - motivational, competency, reflexive and metacognitive - has the most pronounced positive effect on the metacognitive competence of students.
