Abstract

This article exposes the progress of the research project: “For equity in tertiary education in Colombia”, led by the seed group MenteViva-CUN of the Unified National Corporation for Hig-her Education CUN. The research project receives important support from the Pedagogical Innovation research group in partnership with the VISIBILIDAD group at the CUN.The research question, specifically, is: What are the strategies for tertiary education to be inclusive for all types of population in Colombia? The methodology used focuses on a descrip-tive quantitative and qualitative study (mixed). In accordance with the general objective of the research, the aim is to identify strategies for the participatory and inclusive construction of education in light of Article 54, referred to the National Education System of the 2014-2018 De-velopment Plan of the National Government in Colombia. This methodology has four phases. Through the presentation, the first phase corresponding to the discussion held at the Red Vida Foundation is presented; there was the participation of some public and private educational organizations in the business and productive sector and some government representatives, in order to know the weaknesses and strengths of education in the regions of the country. The results and the discussion of this first phase have allowed us to know some significant notes to continue with the following phases of the project.
