Análisis de la evol ución en el tiempo del concepto Dominio de Actividad Estrat égica “DAE”

In the present article a review of the different meanings (in Spanish, English and French) is made, which in the management field literature has the concept of Strategic Business Unit (SBU). In French this concept is known as Domaine d'Activité Stratégique (DAS) and in Spa-nish as Dominio de Actividad Estratégica (DAE), Unidad Estratégica de Negocios (UEN), and Unidades de Negocios Estratégicos (UNES). This paper presents an analysis of the evolution of the concept of the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) over time, taking into account the different conceptions that have been developed about it in the decades between 1980 and 2010, also analyzing the approaches and perspectives of different authors who have contributed in the construction of this concept.
