Abstract

The article deals with the problem of sustainable development, its interpretation from various aspects and concepts of sustainable development. Thus, the problem of sustainable development is one of the most important issues of vital importance. At the same time, there are no one-time solutions to this problem. In other words, the problem, as an integral attribute of the process of economic development, has an extremely complex structure. First of all, it should be noted that the term "sustainable development" (in Azerbaijan, the term "sustainable" is often used. Sometimes both terms are used in the same sequence) is a translation from a foreign language. However, in a foreign language (English, French, German) the meaning of this expression has a broader meaning. For example, the English word "sustainable" means both sustainable and viable, environmentally rational, meeting future needs, and "development" means not only development, but also growth, improvement, evolution, production, and so on. contains. The same situation is in other foreign languages (German, French). The translation of the expression into Azerbaijani is extremely narrow. Even to the extent that at some point there is a perception that there is a logical contradiction in this style of expression. Indeed, "sustainability" is understood as equilibrium, but "development" as a process means "out of balance" as imbalance. However, the inadequacy of the style of expression should not be understood in the sense of a contradiction of concepts. Thus, 40 years ago, ecologists recommended that "sustainability" be applied to the economy as a whole, that is, to be understood as a "sustainable state of the economy" (in balance with ecosystems). This idea became more popular in the following periods, and concrete approaches to the sustainable development of ecosystems and eco-development were put forward.
