Assessment of the development of maritime transport in the economy of Azerbaijan Republic

The article explains the role of maritime transport in international economic relations, as well as the important role of maritime transport in the economy of Azerbaijan in strengthening the political and economic power of our country and promoting the competitiveness of the economy. It analyzes and evaluates the financial and economic activities of the “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company” Closed Joint Stock Company for 2014-2019, including the current state of cargo transportation, income, expenses, profit, the amount of taxes charged and paid on works and services. The article compares the share of taxes accrued and paid to the state budget of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company CJSC in the works and services performed, with the Baku International Sea Trade Port. And also, using the EViews software package, the impact of paid taxes on state budget revenues is assessed. The study, based on the consolidated annual financial statements of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company CJSC, analyzes the impact of calculating the amount of depreciation calculated on the basis of the linear method of depreciation of fixed assets based on the standard service life of ships in the amount of 25% with the establishment of 4 years, on the results of financial and economic the activity of a shipping company, the risk of capital investment in shares of the Caspian Sea Oil Fleet is estimated based on the coefficient of variation.
