Socio-cultural competence in the professional training of future primary school teachers

Abstract

The article theoretically substantiates the essence of sociocultural competence of the future primary school teacher and defines its peculiarities in vocational training. The scientific novelty of the article is to define the conceptual apparatus for determining the essence of sociocultural competence. Research methods are applied: analysis of literature to determine the conceptual apparatus, generalization, systematization, deduction, induction, abstraction in order to theoretically substantiate the features of sociocultural competence of future primary school teachers. It is emphasized that sociocultural competence is an integral quality of personality, which allows a person to determine their value preferences on the basis of existing knowledge system, on the basis of which to construct their behavior and relations with partners for interaction, to influence problematic situations in human relations systems, to realize themselves in cultural and historical conditions of one's life. The model of sociocultural competence, including analysis and interpretation of social signals, is presented; reflection of social signals in all these parameters; modeling of social interactions and professional pedagogical management of them. It is established that pedagogical signs of successful formation of socio-cultural competence of future teacher are: adaptive flexibility, originality, divergence of thinking; independence, the need for freedom of creativity; receptiveness to new experiences; internal and social maturity, etc. The features of sociocultural competence are defined: ability, ability to function in society, to know the problems of society, to understand the mechanism of its activity; socially active activities and implementation of socially directed projects; the ability of a person to adapt socially in society, adopting rules, norms, laws of social life, and at the same time - the ability to realize themselves as a unique individual, to make conscious choices, to form a system of values acceptable to oneself and society; the ability to function in society, to take responsibility, to participate in joint decision-making in the functioning and development of social democratic institutions.
