Abstract
The article discusses the current state of Bachelors in transport technology`s professional training at Ukrainian universities. Having studied the corresponding normative legal documents and standards, it is identified that our country has been training transport technology professionals for more than 20 years. It results in a considerable research and educational experience accumulated by our academic staff. It is also figured out that the regulatory framework is aimed at the cultivation in transport technology professionals of applied knowledge and skills such as the ability to analyze and predict the functioning of transport systems and technologies taking into account the influence of external factors; the ability to organize and manage cargo handling operations in transport; organizational and managerial capabilities in the transportation of passengers, luggage and cargo; the ability to organize the interaction of different transport modes and to manage traffic flows; the ability to coordinate logistics operations in accordance with the existing quality standards and legal requirements and to estimate technical, technological, economic, legal and environmental transportation organization aspects, etc. The educational and professional programs are typically formulated as follows: "Organization of transportation and management by modes of transport", "Freight forwarding activity and logistics", "Transport systems (by modes of transport)", "Transport automation", "Transport technology (by modes of transport)", "Transport security", "Customs in the transport industry". The analysis of educational and professional programs reveals that education content, forms, and methods contribute to the realization of the legally stipulated objectives. However, we believe that the following improvements have to be made to make Bachelor`s degree course schemes more up-to-date and modern: more integrated courses in economics, marketing, advertising, entrepreneurship, foreign languages, digital technology, human rights; more emphasis on the formation of constant self-study skills, the development of innovation susceptibility skills, a creative attitude towards fulfilling functional responsibilities and professional excellence in general.
