Vectors of professional self-development in the conditions of a competently oriented approach in the educational process

Abstract

The publication has stated both scientists and practitioners point on the requirements for graduates of educational institutions, mastering of not only the knowledge but also the ability to apply them in the process of independent scientific, research and creative activity, the ability to adapt quickly, to transform the world around you according to your needs. The purpose of our scientific exploration is to outline the leading vectors of professional self-development in the context of a competently oriented approach in the educational process of Higher Educational institutions. The formulated goal requires a number of tasks to be solved: 1) expanding the information field of educators on the problem of a competently oriented approach in the educational process; 2) clarification of the essence of the concepts: "self-development" and "professional self-development"; 3) defining the vectors of professional self-development in the modern educational space. We argued the competency-based approach contributing to the formation of the key and substantive competencies - complex personality traits that manifest themselves in the willingness and ability to act to accomplish the tasks. The problem of professional self-development of the future teacher has been actualized in the conditions of the competence-oriented approach. Theoretical analysis has allowed interpreting the essence of the concept of "professional development" through the lens of the concept of "self-development", especially since both concepts are in the interdisciplinary context of such sciences as philosophy, sociology, psychology, pedagogy. It has been found out that the professional development is inseparable from the personal one. Awareness of a professional role, understanding of possible professional steps and consequences, forecasting of tprofessional activity and its prospects, ability to self-control and self-perfection form the initial base of development of the future professional, in particular the teacher.
