Pedagogical culture as a factor in the competitiveness of mathematics teachers

Abstract

Preparation of a competitive teacher of mathematics under the conditions of education system reforming is an extremely difficult task. Modern teacher should develop knowledge and qualities of students that will allow them to act successfully in the conditions of dynamic changes, situations of uncertainty, crisis states. The implementation of humanistic approaches is an integral attribute of the educational process. Pedagogical culture becomes a fundamental basis of the education system: on the one hand, as the purpose and content of the process of socialization of the individual, and on the other - as a means of formation of the specialist competitiveness. The purpose of the article is to determine the role of pedagogical culture in formation of the competitiveness of a future mathematics teacher. It has analyzed the content of the teacher competitiveness concept as a set of personal and professional qualities necessary for successful employment and professional adaptation. The components of teacher's competitiveness are: personal characteristics (activity, communication skills, responsibility, striving for leadership), professional (knowledge, skills, education level), creative potential (creative and innovative abilities, innovative activity), moral and aesthetic qualities (humanism, politeness, honesty, demandingness, tolerance, high level of culture). The need for cultural development of a modern teacher and high level of pedagogical culture have been emphasized. The content of the pedagogical culture concept has been determined as a set of professional-personal qualities and ways of the specialist creative self-realization aimed at the development, transfer and creation of pedagogical values, technologies and structure. Some peculiarities of pedagogical culture formation of the future mathematics teachers have been revealed, unresolved issues of the investigated problem identified. In particular, further study requires the research of pedagogical conditions for the formation of competitiveness of the future teacher of mathematics in a classical university.
