Improvement of educational process in institutions of higher education by means of information technologies

Abstract

The aim of the article is to analyze the use of information technologies while teaching at higher educational institutions, determine their didactic possibilities and influence on the formation and development of learners' competencies. To achieve the set aim there were used the general scientific methods of research: analysis of scientific literature, synthesis of research data, comparison and systematization of key concepts, their classification and generalization of research results. Research results provide the development of possibilities for teaching the future specialists by means of information technologies and influence on the type of their educational and professional activity. The article covers the concept of the information technologies and their classification. It also presents the characteristics of information technologies, determines their general peculiarities, implementation stages, use conditions and main advantages and some disadvantages. The article analyzes the means of information technologies used in preparing the future specialists. It discovers the possibilities of using the multimedia technologies, software and hardware complex based on SMART Board, web-technologies and cloud technologies. The article analyzes the main problems, which can be solved by means of implementing the use of information technologies while teaching at higher educational institutions and readiness of future specialists to use the modern information technologies. The scientific novelty of research results in the characteristics of new information technologies which are used for preparing the future specialists, definition of the conditions of their usage in educational process at high school, analysis of the main advantages and disadvantages. The practical importance of research consists in determining the didactic possibilities of information technologies, their practical use at lectures and seminars, while doing scientific research, homework and individual work by the students and while conducting trainings, master-classes, methodological seminars and scientific conferences.
