Abstract

The authors describe the formation of diagnostic and reflexive competence of future teachers in pedagogical practice on the example of UPJŠ (Slovak Republic) teachers. The base of teacher´s professionalization is the competence training of teachers within the frame of practical professional training, which requires considerable attention within the frame of pre-graduate study. The competences are developed within the preparation of teaching profession, which is of a theoretical and practical character. Subject of observation within the pedagogical part of the practice: "Teacher-student interaction in non-standard pedagogical situations", "Course and stages of teaching", "Humanist-oriented assessment of student learning". Each method includes a workflow, an observation scheme, and a question for reflecting the observation results. The authors decided to map the level of competence of teacher students and in the paper they present the results of research focused on the opinions of trainer teachers on the level of diagnostic and reflexive competences of future teachers at Pavol Jozef Šafárik Univesity. Research results have shown that the vast majority of students have well-formed skills to analyze pedagogical reality phenomena, to regulate their own behavior. Some improvement is needed to develop skills to modify approaches and teaching methods that are important in pedagogical activities.
