Development of language education in schools of Ukraine (80-s of ХХ сentury)

Abstract
The article highlights the changes in the content at school language education in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic in the 80's of the twentieth century aimed at deepening knowledge and training of students' skills and bringing studying closer to life. Decisions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine "On Further Improving the Study and Teaching of the Russian Language in the Union Republics" and related documents confirming the additional measures further improvement of the teaching of the Russian language and confirming the continuation of the process of Russification of language education were considered. The changes in the number of hours for the study of Ukrainian, Russian and foreign languages in the process of transition to new curricula of the specified period are analyzed. On the basis of statistics, changes in the number of schools by language of instruction were determined. The issue of development of national-Russian bilingualism in schools of the Ukrainian SSR for the improvement of the study and teaching of the languages of the peoples of the USSR and of the international n language is considered. The positive influence of the use of the educational and technical base of schools is noted. In particular, the demonstration at the lessons of the Russian language of educational television programs aimed at improving literacy, the development of the culture of speech, the enrichment of the vocabulary of students; the rationality of using linguaphone equipment in the offices of a foreign language. The advantages of class divisions of 25 and more students, subgroups for the study of foreign languages and schools with Russian language of instruction, which mainly teach children of national minorities, have been identified, which makes it possible to more closely control the process of language learning.
