Professional and pedagogical competence of a teacher of higher institution in the context of development tendencies of modern university education

Abstract
In the article the personal, psychological and pedagogical criteria are inclosed which characterize a modern teacher of high school, focused on the importance of innovation factors in teaching corporation at the present stage of modernization of the education system in Ukraine. It is emphasized that the basic feature of a creative model of a university lecturer, is his/her intellectual and professional skills, ability and willingness to research, produce new knowledge, creative approaches to the formation of psycho-pedagogical culture. The teacher of high school - is primarily a personality who should have a universal set of skills according to the content of his/her professional activity, including an understanding of the student as it is, without authoritarian pressure to change it radically, which makes the process of identifying formation more effective. It is also revealed that innovation, creativity educational search is one of the most important means of quality assurance. Creative pedagogy and psychology open the way to form a new educational paradigm of higher education and help to clarify the basic personal, psychological and pedagogical criteria to be met by the modern teacher. It was concluded that taking into account the innovative trends of education in Ukraine at the present stage, the variety of tasks of a high school teacher, the essential creative university lecturer characteristics include: intellectual, scientific and methodological level; capability to focused, informed and motivated scientific research and development work; implementation of innovative ideas in the educational process; providing integrative nature of scientific and educational activities; high levels of psychological and pedagogical training and culture. Prospects of further research lie in peculiarities of the formation of a free and creative personality, capable for permanent self-determination not only in the narrow professional activity, but also in the sphere of human values.
