Abstract
The relations between India and Tibet are based on the faith of Buddhism. They are religiously related to each other by the teachings of Buddha. In establishing Buddhism in Tibet and consequently establishing relation between these two countries, the Indian Buddhist scholars during the period of Pāla dynasty played a significant role. The visit of Indian scholars to Tibet during Pala period, was the main pillar of establishment of Buddhism there. Also, the Indian scholars of Pala period did Tibetan translations of Buddhist works of pre-Pala period Indian scholars and these works also actively participated in establishing and flourishing relations between these two countries. Indian Buddhist scholars and their translations contributed in establishing Buddhism firmly in Tibet. This Research article is based on the analysis of the contribution of some of the main scholars who contributed in establishing Buddhism in Tibet and subsequently in establishing relations between India and Tibet.
