Theoretical analysis of the features of professionalself-realization of practical psychologists

This article considers theoretical approaches to the problem of features of professional self-realization of practical psychologists. The urgency of the problem of self-realization of an individual in general and professional self-realization of practical psychologists in particular is substantiated. Increasing attention to this problem is associated with the introduction of higher requirements for such human qualities as the ability to self-development and self-improvement, which is dictated in Ukraine by both socio-economic conditions and the global financial crisis. It is shown that the need to study this issue stems not only from the need for theoretical research of the process, it is caused by the current urgency of solving applied issues of training of psychologists and increase the efficiency of their work. The future of life is a priority component of self-realization of an individual in general and therefore always determines the need for its further development. On the other hand, professional self-realization of an individual acts as the most possible embodiment of a person's inner potential in all spheres of life. It is concluded that the problem of professional growth should be considered as a system of human relations with oneself and with society. Based on the ideas of representatives of Ukrainian and international psychologists, a more detailed role of professional self-realization in the formation of practical psychologists of today is formulated: psychological mechanisms of professional growth, the formation of professional competence are considered as the main conditions for self-realization. Competence can be an indicator that determines the readiness of the future specialist for life, its further development and active participation in society, for the psychologist – the development of professionally significant personal qualities that form the basis of professionalism. The profession of a practical psychologist, firstly, has a transformative character in relation to the personality of other people, secondly, includes at least elements of the professional image of «I» psychologist and, thirdly, at most, the ideal image corresponding to the desired results. Research of the problem of the peculiarities of self-realization of a practical psychologist is possible on the basis of studying the psychological features and professional image of the «I-concept» in professions such as «human-human». The content of professional self-realization of practical psychologists is a multilevel dynamic system that is developing.
