Abstract
Lack of scientific and theoretical developments of organizational and substantive foundations of forestry education system design and basic research in the field of forest pedagogy requires recourse to related fields of scientific knowledge, in particular, the history of forestry education and philosophy of forestry and its main object - nature, which determines the essence, structure and specifics of professional activity of forestry specialists. The purpose of the article is to reveal the stages of evolution of forestry education in Ukraine. To analyze the evolution of forestry education in terms of a combination of historically composed pedagogical paradigms, economic models of society, political system, philosophical views. The stages of evolution of forestry education in Ukraine are distinguished: primary (before 1729), pre-reform (1929-1872), post-reform (1872-1917), Soviet (1917-1991), modern (from 1991 to the present). . The essence, tendencies, approaches, staffing of each stage are revealed. The history of formation, development of forestry education is highlighted and the factors and anti-factors of high-quality professional training of forestry specialists are singled out. The main attention was paid to the problem of continuity of theoretical and practical training, dependence of the content of education on regional specifics, anthropogenic essence of forestry professions.
