Abstract
E-business has witnessed phenomenal growth world-wide with rise of internet, network and ICT infrastructure and emergence of Industry 4.0. It is also showing tremendous growth in developing economies like India with rise in digital and electronic infrastructure, connectivity and subscriber base. Given the differentiation that e-business enjoys over traditional business in form of flexibility, agility and responsiveness, and the ability to offer cost-effective and dynamic solutions, the benefits to business owners and customer are plenty, thereby increasing the e-business prospects. Despite the promising future there have been plenty of underlying technology and other risks perceived by stakeholders. This empirical research explores and analyses the prominent socio-technical concerns and identifies 11 prominent risks associated with e-business, which reflect skepticism and a dark reality, and can be an impediment to e-business growth. The findings can be instrumental in further research on associations and devising risk management strategies for sustaining e-businesses
