Darüşşafaka Tarihinden Kesitler

In this article the conditions of foundation of Darüşşafaka which is administrated by Cemiyet-i Tedrisiye-i islamiye studied. The school has been founded by a non-govermental organization (Cemiyet-i Tedrisiye-i islamiye) or in other words by a charity institution in which the muslim children who are talented, poor and orphan have been educated. In the beginning, the graduates from Darüşşafaka had worked in the areas like telephone or telegraph which the state offers and they charged with similar functions in the first period of the republic as well. Although the natural chief of Cemiyet-i Tedrisiye-i islamiye was the Grand Vizier in the Ottoman Period and the prime minister in the republican period, it has a relationship to the political power, but it could success to keep at a distance from the politics. Darüşşafaka which founded by this society, reached to a contemperary and developed education level by its own possibilities. But reaching to that point it was required a long struggle period with ups and downs.
