Abstract
The article analyzes the categories of freedom of conscience and freedom of religion from the point of view of their conceptual interpretation. Various approaches, social concepts and normative legal acts of Russia in different historical periods are explored. The dialectical interrelation between freedom of conscience and freedom of religion is substantiated. The author also concludes that those categories are equated in the legislation.
