The relationship of successful adaptation with personal qualities of cadets of the penal system at the beginning of university education

Abstract
Emotional-volitional and moral personal qualities, indicators of academic success, the presence of incentives and the absence of disciplinary penalties among first-year cadets of the Academy of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia were studied. The questionnaire Volitional qualities of personality (M.V. Chumakov), the methodology of the study of psychological features of value orientations as a mechanism of behavior regulation (Yu.N. Semenko) and the author's questionnaire were used. It was revealed that the expression of emotional-volitional and moral qualities of the cadets at the beginning of university training is associated with the success of adaptation. The following indicators of adaptation to the educational process are proposed: good academic performance, the presence of incentives, the absence of penalties.
