The article examines the problem of ensuring the competitiveness of enterprises in a market economy, considers the existing methodologies for assessing the competitiveness of enterprises, determines the factors of competitiveness, and proposes a hypothesis according to which cluster initiatives contribute to increasing the values of competitiveness factors. increasing the overall competitiveness of the enterprise. The impact of the cluster on the formation of competitive advantages of its enterprises and on their competitiveness as a whole was analyzed. As a result, it can be concluded that the implementation of cluster initiatives contributes to the improvement of the main factors of competitiveness of cluster enterprises, as it improves the marketing, management, information technology component, human capital and increases the market share and market power of enterprises. enterprises in the cluster. As a result of the study, the proposed hypothesis was proven and it was determined that cluster initiatives contribute to improving the values of competitiveness factors and increasing the overall competitiveness of the enterprise. Therefore, cluster initiatives are a factor in the competitiveness of modern enterprises. The functioning of clusters also implies the efficiency and flexibility that is possible in networks built on the principle of proximity and informal local connections, compared to networks that include formal or hierarchical relationships between enterprises or institutions and enterprises. Cluster theory can show the formation of a network of connections and the emergence of social capital, thus helping to compartmentalize the problem of cause and effect. The development of the theory of clusters helps to clarify the sources of the network structure, the meaning of activity in this network, and the connections between the characteristics of the network and the results of its functioning. The development of the theory of clusters, in turn, involves the possibility of establishing a closer connection between the theory of networks, social capital and social activity, between public activity, competition and economic prosperity and the expansion of these concepts.
