PROSPECTS OF INSURANCE IN INTERNATIONAL TOURISM IN THE CONTEXT OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The article is devoted to researching the prospects of insurance in international tourism in the context of sustainable development. The essence and role of insurance in the field of international tourism has been studied. The most popular types of insurance in international tourism have been summarized, among which special attention has been paid to the study of ethical travel insurance. It has been established that this tourist product is able to solve the problems of preservation and restoration of the environment, ecology, poverty and become an extremely promising and effective tool for achieving the goals of the concept of sustainable development. The experience of British insurance companies operating on the international insurance market in creating an ethical insurance product, and the mechanism of selling it to tourists have been analyzed. It has been established that funds from selling the product go to global charities and non-profit organizations. Then, the accumulated funds are directed to the implementation of grants and projects, depending on the goals of these organizations. The article presents the existing initiatives used by these insurance companies to involve their employees and tourists themselves in the problems of preserving and restoring the environment. Taking into account the well-founded need to create an ethical insurance product, ways for its rapid development have been proposed. Implementation of this promising type of insurance in international tourism will significantly improve the ecology of our planet and preserve natural resources for posterity.
