ACADEMIC INTEGRITY IN THE PROCESS OF PREPARING A MAJOR ECONOMIST

The article analyzes the essence and specificity of academic integrity in the process of preparing future economists. It has been established that academic integrity implies that all participants in the educational process strictly adhere to the code of honor, trust, respect and are fully responsible for their actions, namely for the implementation of certain tasks, the writing and publication of scientific and educational works, the assessment of skills and their exchange during the educational process process, teaching and scientific analytics. The statement of the Law of Ukraine «On Education» is analyzed in the context of the essence of the concept of academic integrity. It has been proven that academic dishonesty makes the effective operation of the entire education system impossible and calls into question its quality. Peculiarities of academic dishonesty in the context of the functioning of higher education institutions have been studied. It has been established that currently there are a significant number of international organizations in the world that monitor and control compliance with academic integrity and provide recommendations to prevent academic dishonesty. It has been established that since 2016, the Academic Integrity Promotion Project (SAIUP project), founded by the American Councils for International Education together with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and with the support of the United States Embassy, started in Ukraine. The specifics of detection and methods of combating academic dishonesty on the example of the Dnipro State Agrarian and Economic University were investigated in detail. It was established that the «Regulations on Prevention and Detection of Academic Plagiarism at the Dnipro State Agrarian and Economic University» were developed to detect academic dishonesty at the Dnipro State Agrarian and Economic University.
