Abstract

It is known that tourism is one of those sectors of the Ukrainian economy that suffered significant losses during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, the open armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine on February 24, 2022 was another blow and test for the tourism industry in Ukraine. Also arose quite challenging tasks for world tourism, in particular those related to uncertainty, security aspects and economic issues. In view of the above, the purpose of the article is to study the impact of a full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war on the tourism industry in Ukraine and the world in the context of trends, challenges and post-war recovery. The Russian-Ukrainian war is not only a war for the independence of Ukraine, but also a war for values: life, democracy and freedom throughout the world. Ukraine is the heir of one of the most powerful states of medieval Europe and glorious past — Kievan Rus', as well as is a European state, an integral part of European civilization. The Russian Federation, whose historical name is Moscovia, is an aggressor state, a terrorist state and a state sponsor of terrorism. The actions of the top leadership of the Russian Federation and the russian orthodox church are a thoughtful, consistent and well-planned russian policy of genocide of the Ukrainian people. President Russian Federation V. Putin, the top political and military leadership of Russia are war criminals and terrorists. Most russians support the Russian-Ukrainian war because they are an absolutely immoral society. At the same time and under such circumstances and events, the tourism industry in Ukraine in wartime conditions adequately overcomes the challenges of Russia's war against Ukraine, tries to recover and function, and plans for the future. According to the results of the study, it was found that one of the noticeable changes in the tourism industry of Ukraine was that during the war, tour operators and volunteer organizations actively began to cooperate with the government of Ukraine in order to create specialized programs for the rehabilitation of military personnel, internally displaced persons and other civilians affected by Russian armed aggression in Ukraine. All these programs are implemented both on the territory of Ukraine, in particular in the Carpathians, and beyond its borders, they include unique methods of treatment and recovery, covering medical and psychological approaches, as well as natural methods. Such an innovative approach to tourism in the Ukrainian Carpathians in wartime conditions makes this type of recreation a rather unique and significant phenomenon in the development of tourism in Ukraine and contributes to maintaining the health of the nation. Also a promising area of post-war tourism in Ukraine, as a component of memorial culture, is memorial tourism. In this case, in order to preserve the memory of the events related to the Russian-Ukrainian war, it is advisable to involve the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance and the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine. At the same time, one should not forget about the rich history, culture, sights of Ukraine and the achievements of the Ukrainian people. There are different kinds of tourism, as well as various activities aimed at promoting the tourism product. The conclusion is formulated that the success of the tourism business and the development of tourism in Ukraine largely depends on the level of state support and the policy of Ukraine. It has also been proven that all russians, and not just the top political and military leadership of the Russian Federation, must bear full responsibility and be punished by the world community for all Russian crimes during the war against Ukraine and in Ukraine and the world.
