COMPETENT APPROACH TO THE ORGANIZATION OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS OF MASTERS OF ENVIRONMENT

Abstract

Introduction. The article substantiates the need for increased attention to the professional training of environmental masters in institutions of higher education. The relevance of this study is determined by the contradiction between the objective need of the environmental sphere for highly qualified personnel and the insufficiently formed strategy of professional training of environmental students who obtain a master's degree in domestic institutions of higher education. Purpose. The purpose of the article is to determine approaches to the formation of the professional competence of a master of environmental science and to provide recommendations for its formation during the educational process in institutions of higher education. Methods. When preparing the results of this study, the following methods were used: theoretical analysis and synthesis - to define and substantiate the main concepts, identify cause-and-effect relationships, structure and systematize scientific sources; analogies - which made it possible to carry out the process of theoretical study of the problem based on similarities with previously successfully investigated problems by other scientists; observation - to monitor the process of formation of the professional competence of masters-ecologists, study of the products of activities - the educational program of training masters in the specialty 101 «Ecology» and syllabuses of educational disciplines. Results. The essence of the competence approach to the formation of the professional qualities of environmental masters is revealed, which is based on the separation of social, market, regulatory and personal requirements. The categories «competence», «skills», «competence approach», «professional competence», «readiness for professional activity», «environmental competence» are characterized. The components of the professional competence of environmental students are determined: intellectual-content, communicative, organizational, creative, motivational-acmeological, moral-willed. Originality. Four functions of the process of formation of professional competence of environmental masters are offered: educational, methodological, developmental, formative. The principles of the formation of professional competence of future ecologists are highlighted: scientificity, balance of theory and practice, problematic learning, accessibility, emphasis on learning results, perspective.Organizational-pedagogical principles for the formation of the content and teaching methods of professional disciplines, disclosure of the values and advantages of mastering modern environmental knowledge, confidence in the possibility of professional development in the chosen field, assistance in the implementation of the individual educational trajectory of the development of masters-ecologists have been developed.Conclusion. The professional competence of a Master of environmental science can be presented in the form of professional competences in accordance with professional functions. Each of the competences in the composition of professional competence is the result of professional training and contains the following structural components: knowledge, abilities, skills, professionally important qualities, the formation of internal motivation for this type of activity, own abilities, creative approach to work, personal experience, as well as drive to continuous self-education and self-improvement.
