Abstract
Audiovisual translation is of particular importance due to its increased demand and the need of the people of the Arabic language to it. Culture-Specific Items are considered one of the most important aspects of audiovisual texts, as they reflect a large part of their spirit and identity. This study seeks to analyze the strategies of translating Culture-Specific Items in the subtitled films into Arabic, between foreignization and domestication, and evaluate the translator's handling of it, through a descriptive study of the subtitling of the Argentinian film Relatos salvajes (Wild Tales). The results of this study describe the translator's reliance on domestication as a general approach in transferring Culture-Specific Items into the Arabic language. Most of them were domesticated, whether there was a need for that or not.
