THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL ASPECTS OF UKRAINE’S TRANSITION TO THE DIGITAL ECONOMY MODEL

Introduction. A characteristic feature of the development of the modern economic system is the combination of economic, technological, social and ecological components. And in recent years, innovations and technologies have come to the fore. It is about a complete reformatting of already existing elements of the economic system, replacement of existing management models, social norms and social rules. That is why the current stage of development of the vast majority of countries in the world is directly related to the transition to a new model of development — the digital economy. Purpose: determination of constituent components and interrelationships that form the understanding of the definition of «digital economy» and, based on them, clarification of its content load. Materials and methods. The materials of the research are the works of domestic and foreign authors aimed at researching the concept of «digital economy», substantiation of its components and mechanism of organization and functioning. In the process of carrying out the research, the following scientific methods were used: theoretical generalization and grouping (to form the content load of the concept); formalization, analysis and synthesis (to determine the components of the digital economy); logical generalization of results (formulation of conclusions). Results. It was determined that the transformational changes taking place in the development of the economic system are directly related to the gradual transition of the economy from the informational to the digital model of development, where the production and functioning of digital means and systems becomes a significant economic resource. According to the results of the study of the content load of the concept of «digital economy», it was concluded that the basis of this definition is a systematic combination of final consumer products (goods, services and software); business processes (marketing, advertising, trade, service, logistics infrastructure, etc.); consumption and use of information and communication technologies; digital skills of consumers. It was determined that in addition to the real and information sector, the economic system includes a wider list of elements that do not fall under the requirements of the traditional economy. A refined definition of the concept of «digital economy» is proposed — it is a model of the development of the economic system, under the conditions of which the economic result is obtained as a result of the use of digital technologies and business models based on digital goods or services. Discussion. Further research will be aimed at a more in-depth study of new types of economic activity that did not exist before digital technologies: e-business; electronic commerce; sharing economy; gig economy; electronic state.
