Abstract
Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a complex pathological symptom complex that occurs a few days before menstruation and manifests itself in various neuropsychiatric, vegetative–vascular, metabolic and endocrine disorders. The frequency of premenstrual syndrome has not tended to decrease in recent years, reaching an average of 30-40% in women of reproductive age. It should be noted that not all patients with PMS go to doctors on their own. The most characteristic symptoms of PMS are irritability, emotional lability, fluid retention in the body and the development of edema, swelling and tenderness of the mammary glands, headache, acne, changes in appetite, flatulence. One of the ways to treat this syndrome is the use of drospirenone-containing drugs. The most well—studied drug in this category is jes, the properties and mechanism of action of which I will consider in this article.
