Abstract
Male infertility is a violation of the male reproductive function, expressed in the inability to have offspring. In this pathology, spermatozoa, due to certain reasons, cannot fertilize an egg. Infertility is one of the most pressing problems of our time. According to statistics, one in five married couples cannot have children, and in about 40% of cases, male infertility is the cause of this problem. This is a consequence of the qualitative and quantitative changes in sperm in the ejaculate, the reasons for this can be many factors. These include genetic, endocrine disorders, as well as various external factors, among which infectious diseases of the genital tract occupy a leading place. One of the terrible infections that lead to male infertility is urogenital herpes. The method of combating this disease is interferon therapy, the effectiveness and significance of which I will consider in this article.
