CULTURAL APPROACH IN UKRAINIAN LITERATURE TEXTBOOKS FOR GRADES 5-6 NUSH: TRADITIONS AND INNOVATION OF NILA VOLOSHYNA'S SCIENTIFIC SCHOOL

Abstract

Introduction. The culturological approach is a crucial element in the content of school literary education, as it provides a broad horizon of knowledge and skills for students aimed at comprehending the art of words in the system of spiritual processes. Currently, the implementation of the ideas of the culturological approach in the content of school literary education is provided for in the model curricula for grades 5-9 and the current textbooks of Ukrainian literature for grades 5-6 of the New Ukrainian School.Purpose. The leading ideas related to the theoretical understanding and practical implementation of the culturological approach to teaching literature in the content of modern school textbooks of Ukrainian literature for grades 5-6 of the New Ukrainian School are actualized based on the analysis of the problem of curriculum and textbook development presented in the scientific and methodological works of the scientific school of N. Voloshyna Methods. The article employs a range of general scientific methods, including: analysis of scientific and methodological works by Ukrainian scholars and methodologists, educational programs, school textbooks in Ukrainian literature, and websites on the research topic; generalization of the collected material to determine the theoretical foundations of the research and to analyze pedagogical experience related to the research problem; сultural-historical, biographical, comparative (comparative-historical, comparative-typological), descriptive, and psychological methods.Results. The article analyzes Ukrainian literature textbooks published by the author's team under the leadership of N. Voloshyna in independent Ukraine. It is proved that the implementation of the experience of Ukrainian scholars and methodologists in the field of curriculum and textbook development will contribute to the actualization of the ideas of humanization and humanitarization of school literary education, integration of interdisciplinary knowledge in the school literature course.Originality. The authors of the current textbooks consistently implement the ideas of the culturological approach in biographical sketches, literary-critical and illustrative material, methodological apparatus of textbooks, and thematic and stylistic diversity of the proposed works of art.Conclusion. It is emphasized that in the process of studying literature, a comprehensive approach to using the cultural and creative influence of different types of art is important for forming a holistic artistic picture of the world in students. It is proved that a constructive and critical understanding of the experience of Ukrainian scholars and methodologists in the field of program and textbook development will contribute to the integration of interdisciplinary knowledge in school literature education. It is emphasized that modern Ukrainian literature textbooks for grades 5 and 6, developed by the team of authors T. Yatsenko, O. Pakharenko, O. Slyzhuk, are based on the principles of the culturological approach and are aimed at acquainting students with the artistic and aesthetic and cultural and historical values of mankind, understanding literary phenomena and facts in a broad cultural context, developing artistic tastes, and forming the spiritual world of a young person.
