WEB QUEST AS A MODERN EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY IN TECHNOLOGY LESSONS

Abstract
Introduction. Currently, it is important to teach high school students the skills of rapid adaptation to the conditions of continuous production renewal, to form individuals capable of constant self-improvement, interested in professional growth throughout their lives. These tasks can be solved by implementing web quests in the educational process, in particular in technology lessons. Purpose. The purpose of the article is to study the essence of the web quest technology, to determine the principles of their classification, structure, algorithm for creating and implementing a web quest, as well as methods of evaluating the developed web quests. Methods. Analysis of scientific literary sources, generalization, systematization. Results. With the introduction of new information technologies into education, it became possible to use modern educational technologies, which raise the educational interaction of the participants in the educational process to a new level, and allow the principle of individualization of education to be applied in practice. One of the important components of such a didactic design is a modern web quest. The term «web quest» was proposed in 1995 at San Diego State University in the USA. In general, a web quest is presented in scientific publications as: the process of searching for information, a game, a problem task, a type of research activity, an educational site, a learning technology, a form of organizing educational activities, a means of learning, etc. A web quest in education is a problematic task with elements of role-playing, for the implementation of which information resources of the Internet are used. The teacher who creates the tasks selects information on the Internet, finds the necessary materials there and provides students with relevant hyperlinks. High school students complete the suggested tasks in a group or individually and, upon completion, present their own web page on the topic or some other creative work in electronic, printed or oral form.Originality. The study involved the analysis of various scientific approaches to understanding the concept of «web quest», its classification, the process of developing and evaluating a web quest. Conclusion. Therefore, the use of web quests in the educational process develops the cognitive activity of students and the skills of independent acquisition of knowledge. An educational web quest is a didactic structure, with the help of which the subject teacher improves the search activity of students. This technology is modern and promising, has a number of advantages, and deserves to be widely implemented in the educational process. We see the prospects of our research in the development and testing of web quests for compulsory optional modules of the curriculum «Technologies. Grade 10-11» (standard level).
