Abstract
This study aims to find the role performed by social media networks in raising the awareness of the Palestinian people of human rights. The descriptive approach is adopted in media scanning of “social media networks” through field work. A questionnaire is used as a tool for data collection, for the Palestinian people, direct interview as a second took, for specialized personnel. The questionnaire was randomly distributed to a random stratified sample of (455). The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are as follows: - Social media networks have opened up a tremendous opportunity to highlight issues relating to the culture of human rights, with 43.3% agreeing with this trend. - Participants increasingly turn to share stories pertaining human rights issues on social networks, with 63.5% using the LIKE button which is designed to allow users to express their positive evaluations of the Facebook-related contents. - Social media networks have become a key forum for debate among members, with 60.9% expressing their opinion on issues concerning human rights.
