Abstract
This study investigates the influence of task complexity on language production among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. Task complexity, a crucial factor in second language acquisition, impacts learners' linguistic output in terms of accuracy, fluency, and complexity. Using Robinson's Cognition Hypothesis as a theoretical framework, this research explores how varying levels of task complexity affect EFL students' oral and written language production. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, including quantitative analysis of language performance metrics and qualitative insights from learner interviews. Results suggest that increased task complexity positively correlates with linguistic complexity and accuracy but may hinder fluency. These findings have significant implications for task-based language teaching (TBLT) methodologies.
