DEVELOPMENT OF CRITICAL THINKING OF JUNIOR SCHOOLCHILDREN IN COMPUTER SCIENCE LESSONS

Abstract

Introduction. The modern information society is aimed at educating a thinking, independent, creative personality. The ability to process information throughout life, which includes the processes ofobtaining, processing, applying it for individual development and self-improvement.One of the educational innovations at the present stage of the New Ukrainian School is the development of critical thinking of younger students. Critical thinking is basedon the laws of logic and understanding of the processes of the psyche that occur in our minds. Critical thinkers are characterized by skepticism about everything around them. To think critically means to be free to use high-level mental strategies and operations to formulate sound conclusions and assessments, and to make well-considered decisions.Purpose. The purpose ofthe article is to analyze the features of the development of critical thinking of junior schoolchildren in computer science lessons.Methods:theoretical: study and analysis of psychological, pedagogical, educational and methodological literature, systematization and generalization of data.Results. Educational technology for the development of critical thinking is a system of various pedagogical methods and techniques. The introduction of such technology lays the foundation for improving the process of assimilation of knowledge in the future, since the interactive side of the methodology is aimed not at memorization, but at understanding the process of cognition of the world around us, at formulating a problem and finding its solution. We would like to emphasize that no additional circumstances are required for the implementation of this system of methods. The only prerequisite is the teacher's desire to go to the planned result.Originality. The main pedagogical approaches to the formation of critical thinking in junior schoolchildren in computer science lessons are outlined. It is emphasized that the introduction of the technology of critical thinking lays the foundation for improving the process of assimilation of knowledge in the future, since the interactive side of the methods is aimed not at memorization, but at understanding the process of cognition of the surrounding world, at formulating a problem and finding its solution. Methods for the formation of critical thinking in junior schoolchildren in computer science lessons are proposed, namely: «Basket of Ideas», «Tree of Assumptions», «Bloom's Chamomile», «Six Hats».Conclusion. Critical thinking is one of the most important basic human skills that helps to maintain a flexible mind, impartiality, interest in learning about the world, and openness. It gives us the opportunity to see the world as real, analyze information from different sources, make comparisons, compare facts, refute myths and form our own conclusions. It is with the help of critical thinking that we can select solutions to problems that do not have one obvious correct answer, form a healthy worldview, which is based on useful beliefs about the world and ourselves.
