Abstract

Introduction. The modern energy landscape is undergoing significant changes, the Russian-Ukrainian war affects global energy and the development of certain regions, therefore the relevance of the integration of the Ukrainian energy system into the European one is becoming more and more relevant. This stage becomes a strategic step for Ukraine in ensuring energy security, development and sustainable economic growth. Integration into the European energy system gives Ukraine access to new technologies, markets and resources, which will contribute to its energy stability and competitiveness in the international arena. Such a course is aimed at strengthening trust and partnership between Ukraine and the countries of the European Union, ensuring a common interest in the development of a sustainable and efficient energy system. Purpose. The purpose of the research is an in-depth analysis and determination of the prospects for the integration of the energy system of Ukraine into the European energy system, in particular the assessment of opportunities, challenges and advantages of this process, as well as the identification of strategies necessary to achieve successful integration. Materials and methods. The research materials are: 1) regulatory and legal support for regulating the integration of energy systems; 2) works of domestic and foreign authors engaged in scientific and practical research in the field of international relations, international economic relations, in particular, in relation to integration processes in the field of energy. The following scientific methods were used during the research: system and structural analysis (analysis of prerequisites for the development of integration processes in the field of energy); logical generalization (study of theoretical foundations and conceptual characteristics of energy integration); expert evaluations (analysis of directions for the implementation of the energy strategy of Ukraine in the context of the study of world experience and analysis of perspectives); logical generalization of results (formulation of conclusions). Results. Research in a scientific article on the prospects of the integration of the energy system of Ukraine into the European energy system can confirm that the integration will contribute to increasing the stability, reliability and security of the Ukrainian energy system, contributing to the equalization of peak loads and providing access to additional energy sources in case of need. In addition, integration can increase resource efficiency and promote the development of renewable energy sources. The study can also identify specific pathways and strategies for successful integration, including infrastructure development and modernization, improvement of legislation and regulatory framework, and enhancement of technical and technological capabilities for power system management. Research findings may also highlight potential challenges and obstacles to integration, such as political or economic constraints, technical difficulties or social problems, Russian invasion, and significant destruction of energy infrastructure. Discussion. The prospects of this study regarding the integration of the energy system of Ukraine into the European energy system are very important. They pave the way for improving the country's energy security, ensuring the stability of energy supply and reducing dependence on imports. The research can help develop specific strategies and measures for the modernization of the energy infrastructure, which will contribute to increasing the efficiency and reliability of the energy system.
