Abstract

Introduction. The key vector of the development of the national economy in the conditions of modern challenges that Ukraine has faced should be based on the balancing of three spheres: economic, ecological and social. This kind of approach is due to the need to reduce the pressure of the anthropogenic factor on the surrounding natural environment, the effect of which became particularly acute in the era of industrialism. There is an objective need to review the relationship in the triad of man-economy-nature in order to reduce resource consumption, pollution and gradual environmental degradation. This need is relevant both for Ukraine and on a global scale. Materials and methods. The research materials are domestic regulatory documents and UN reports, as well as the works of domestic authors conducting their scientific and practical research in the field of sustainable development. The methods of analysis, synthesis, comparison and forecasting were used in the process of conducting the research. The purpose of the article. To investigate the priorities of the sustainable development of the economy of Ukraine in peacetime and during war, to determine the key aspects of state policy in this direction. The purpose of the article involves the following tasks: consider the goals of sustainable development; to analyze the main components of sustainable development of Ukraine; determine the impact of the war on the sustainable development of Ukraine. Analysis of recent research and publications. The following scientists made a significant contribution to solving the problem of sustainable development of the Ukrainian economy: O. Kostyuchyk [1], E. Buryak [3], K. Redko [3], O. Latysheva [4], G. Kapinos [11], Larionova K. [11] and others. The results. Modern conditions of the functioning of economic systems require a revision of the methodological foundations of the industrial paradigm. The concept of sustainable development is the “new philosophy” of today, which explains the basics of balanced interaction between man and nature. It is proposed to consider sustainable development as a unity of economic, ecological and social components, which in the process of their interaction create a new quality. The specificity of the economic, ecological and social approach to the interpretation of the essence of sustainable development has been clarified. In view of the modern challenges faced by Ukraine, it was concluded that in the post-war period, the issues of overcoming poverty, economic growth and ensuring environmental sustainability will be the primary problems that Ukraine will face. Priority will be given to sustainable development goals such as poverty alleviation and decent wages, economic growth, clean water and proper sanitation, as well as industry, innovation and infrastructure as a key to economic growth. A promising direction of further research on this topic is the study of the goals of sustainable development through the prism of modern challenges.
