Abstract
The article presents a comparative analysis of translations of the poem "The Beautiful Shirgazy" by Arseny Tarkovsky and Lev Penkovsky by the outstanding Turkmen poet of the XVIII century Magtymguly Fragi. The main attention is paid to the stylistic features of translations, methods of transmitting the cultural context and preserving the poetic rhythm of the original. The study reveals how each of the translators adapted the work for the Russian-speaking audience, while maintaining the unique flavor of Magtymguly's poetry.
