Abstract
The concept of scientific literacy has become a widely promoted slogan within the scientific community for several years. However, in some cases, it has led to a degree of ambiguity due to the various meanings or personal interpretations assigned to this new approach of integrating specific research-related competencies into educational curricula. The idea of scientific literacy suggests incorporating fundamental objectives for all students, recognizing science education as an essential part of general education. Engaging students in scientific research projects aims to plant the seeds for our country's future technological development. However, this alone is not enough; we must integrate it consciously and systematically into educational structures—both at early and higher education levels—through strategies that foster research skills and establish a foundation for technological development with its own identity. It is an honor to present this edition of the Journal Boliviano de Ciencias, featuring scientific articles that demonstrate a strong commitment to society by contributing to the improvement of quality of life across the various topics addressed in this issue.
