Abstract

The article examines some aspects of the content and specifics of the activities of volunteer organizations in the conditions of war in Ukraine. It is established that volunteering is fundamentally an absolutely positive factor in the development of society, stimulating the improvement of social security in Ukraine. It has been determined that the activities of volunteer organizations, volunteers, and volunteer activities in general in wartime become particularly important. It was found that the main efforts at this moment are aimed at helping everyone who needs it – the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, volunteers, first aid units, internally displaced persons, socially vulnerable segments of the population, animals, and others. The aim of the article is to clarify the content and specifics of the activities of volunteer organizations in the conditions of war in Ukraine. The applied research methods are: analysis (interpretation of literary sources in order to identify their essence, main goal), comparison (establishment of common and distinctive features between objects, processes, phenomena, etc.), generalization (determination of common properties in processes). It is noted that volunteering contributes to strengthening social unity, developing civic consciousness, tolerance and mutual understanding. It is determined that volunteering initiatives contribute to the social integration of vulnerable groups of the population, such as orphans, people with special needs, war veterans, internally and externally displaced persons, etc. It was found that volunteer activities in Ukraine, namely the goal, principles, foundations, and relationships associated with its implementation, are regulated by the Law of Ukraine “On Volunteer Activities” dated April 19, 2011, No. 3236-VI, as amended. It has been proven that volunteer organizations in Ukraine are one of the institutions ensuring the rights, freedoms and interests of various subjects – people, legal entities, state and non-state bodies, animals, whose areas of activity are provided by political, social, economic needs and are improved by the trends and challenges of the time. It has been established that volunteers and volunteer organizations face a number of problems in the implementation of their activities. The main recommendations for improving volunteer activities are substantiated.
