Abstract

The aim of the study was to examine the nature of interventions and treatment outcomes of patients with injuries of the spleen on the basis of own material and according to the literature. Material and methods research. Under our supervision there were 263 patients with injuries of the abdomen and thorax, 41 injured with a lacerated spleen, which was 15.9%. Men 24 women 17. Age ranged from 22 to 58 years. Results. The main type of surgery for a lacerated spleen splenectomy was performed in 37 patients (90.3% of%). In 4 (9.7 per cent) of victims were made organ surgery: splenorrhaphy and applique the injury hemostatic sponge with a satisfactory result. Conclusion. In most cases, open splenectomy is the only surgical option, saving the victim's life. When small surface tears of the capsule or small hematomas of the spleen in some cases it is possible the use of breast conserving surgery
