The stylistic potential of modern phraseology in Ukrainian media

Abstract

The author analyzes modern media phraseology and its stylistic and functional features in Ukrainian mass media resources. Special attention is paid to the transformation processes in stylistic processes of phraseology, used in media for more expression. Assessment, which is the main characteristic of mass media space, often correlates with the usage of phraseology in media. The idioms in the texts of media help the authors to create a comprehensive picture of reality by imaginative synthesis, the impact on the recipient and emotional description of reality. Analysis of modern mass media texts showed that the phraseology units in the media provide the texts of special national character, realize the potential ability to influence on the recipient by using constant well-known linguistic units.
