Abstract
The article discusses morphological, ultrasctructural, and functional properties of mast cell population in healthy mammary gland, fibrocystic breast condition, fibrocystic breast condition in combination with fibroadenoma, fibrocystic breast condition with atypical hyperplasia, and mammary gland cancer. The study demonstrates the importance of mast cell system in the fore-mentioned pathology. Mast cell activation is cyclic and depends on the type of tumor.
