Abstract
Currently, there are no clear indications for minimally invasive treatment of stop bleeding hemothorax. Primary videothoracoscopy in this group of patients is not always justified, both clinically and economically. We analyzed medical cards of 106 patients who got medical help in thoracic department of Yaroslavl Regional Hospital. Patients were divided in groups according to treatment methods ? methods of minor surgery and thoracoscopy. Each patient was analyzed for 109 characters (both quantitative and qualitative). The results allowed us to choose characteristics for minimally invasive treatment. They are time from the onset of the disease, chest X-ray on admission, absence or type of previous treatment, the temperature at admission, red blood parameters, platelets and ESR.
