HISTORY OF DEVELOPMENT AND ACHIEVEMENT OF DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN'S SURGERY OF THE GRODNO STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY FOR LAST 30 YEARS

Abstract
The purpose of this work - to present stages of formation and development of department of children's surgery throughout 30 summer periods. The role of the first organizer and the head of the department professor Matskevich B. I. Avtorami is shown the way of improvement of educational process, the edition of educational and methodical materials by the staff of chair, research and medical work of chair is presented. In total staff of chair defended 2 doctor's and 9 master's theses. V. I. Kovalchuk's monograph "Acute hematogenic osteomyelitis at newborns", is published 1998. Results of scientific researches of staff of chair are published more than in 550 articles and theses both in domestic, and in a foreign press, reported at various conferences, symposiums and congresses. For this period the staff of chair took out more than 20 patents, copyright certificates and demands for the invention. It is developed and introduced in clinical practice of 8 methodical recommendations, 78 own and borrowed scientific development, 100 improvement suggestions. Constantly the range of surgeries on bodies of a chest and abdominal cavity, in urology extends. New methods of diagnostics and treatment of malformations at newborns and children of early age are improved and developed. The chair together with offices was created as the scientific and organizational center of children's surgery in the western region of the Republic.
