Abstract
Nowadays, women still face a lot of difficulties regarding promotion to senior management positions. Glass ceiling syndrome refers to the unseen barriers that keeps women from rising to the upper ranks of the corporate ladder, regardless of their qualifications or achievements. This study focuses on the impact of media in regards to women suffering from glass ceiling syndrome especially in education sector. For this purpose, a scale called "Attitudes towards Women in Media” has been developed. By using this scale, data has been collected from 150 teachers, with a particular focus on the limited involvement of women in the management of primary and secondary schools and whether the representation of women in the media has an impact on this. The impact has also been investigated in regards to the participants’ gender, age, marital status, education, position of responsibility and work context.
