The functional mechanisms of the white line of the abdomen and their role in the pathogenesis of ventral hernia

The article gives a detailed analysis of the scientific work and their own data for the last ten years devoted to the problem of treatment of patients with umbilical hernias. Covered in detail and summarized the practical experience of various authors on the surgical treatment of patients with this pathology. Identified the causes of relapse and development periomphalic umbilical hernia in the postoperative period. Based on a detailed analysis of morfofuntional and biomechanical properties of the fascial- musculo- aponeurotic complex abdominal wall author justifies the use of prosthetic techniques in closing the defect of the umbilical ring.
