Abstract
It is hard to make a decision between limb salvage and primary amputation in the management of severe injuries to the extremities. The primary aim of the limb salvage is to have a functional extremity, but in some cases it causes more morbidity and less functional outcome than primary amputation. An unusual lower extremity crush injury with resultant primary amputation is presented and the importance of decision making is discussed.
