Best Practice in Libraries & E-Marketing of Library Services

The article throws light with the introduction to the role of academic libraries and the impact of ICT on them in the present context. The article stresses on the current challenges faced by the academic libraries, and how it can be overcome by using the best practices. It also highlights the broad areas under which the works are classified, along with its list under each category. It discusses importance of introducing the best practices in a modern library and information centre to enable it to improve its processes and activities, optimize resource utilization, and deliver high quality, value added services to its users. NAAC in India is responsible for developing best practices/ guidelines for different types of libraries and/ or for specific services. The processes that are adopted in the academic libraries will be a continuous improvement in the overall performance in the institution/ organization.
